Biker Killed in Pennsylvania Motorcycle Crash

One man died from a motorcycle accident that occurred in Pennsylvania on July 17. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on 38th Street in Erie. Reports say that the man was riding his motorcycle eastbound on 38th Street when an oncoming vehicle turned directly into his path. The vehicle traveling westbound was being driven by a 67-year-old man who was turning onto Lake Pleasant Road. The motorcyclist suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital by emergency personnel.

The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries around noon on July 18. The driver inside the vehicle was unharmed in the collision. Police did not issue any criminal charges immediately after the incident, and they were continuing to conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash.

A motorcyclist’s immediate relatives may consider filing a wrongful death claim against a driver in an effort to recover damages that resulted after a fatal wreck. Plaintiffs in wrongful death claims may seek restitution to help account for the loss of support or services, loss of future contribution of income, medical expenses and funeral costs.
