7 Remain Hospitalized After Fatal I-95 Pileup
Seven individuals remain hospitalized after a pileup involving nearly 70 cars on I-95 in Baltimore. Of the seven, two are in critical condition, two are in serious condition, and three are in fair condition and are expected to recover quickly.
The crash occurred early Saturday morning, December 17, near the Caton Avenue and Washington Boulevard exits. A video from the scene shows an oil tanker rolling on its side and exploding. Authorities reported that two individuals were fatally injured on the scene and many more suffered personal injuries.
Many who saw the video attribute the truck’s sliding to heavy patches of ice that had developed overnight. Accidents involving wintry conditions such as this one are likely to become worse, as many have said that this upcoming winter will be the coldest on record.
